1. Training Objectives
The School of Archaeology aims for the development of antiquities and cultural relics protection. It trains outstanding and well-adapted students with solid academic foundation, for both national and local cultural relics and archaeology departments, all levels of teaching and research institutions in archaeology, cultural relics and museology, and history, and related government departments and public institutions.
2. Academic Competence
The guiding principle is to learn fundamental knowledge, master field methods and skills, and learn how Chinese archaeology developed throughout its history and its current research status, in order to equip students with the preliminary ability to engage in archaeological research. The School helps its students to receive basic training in Chinese archaeology, foreign archaeology, museology, cultural relics protection technology, cultural heritage, cultural anthropology, paleography, etc., to understand the multidisciplinary trend of archaeology and its worldwide development.
